Friends sent Salvino text messages between that time and 9:30 a.m., all of which reached his cellphone successfully but went unanswered. Family members claim that about 9:45 a.m., all texts sent to Salvino went unanswered and all phone calls to him went directly to voicemail.
Body of Peter recovered from Diversey Harbor
Emergency personnel in Chicago pulled Peter Salvino’s body from Diversey Harbor on Tuesday evening after scouring the area where his cellphone had last been used before he disappeared over the weekend.
According to Chicago police, Peter Salvino’s phone was last spotted early on Sunday morning in the 2400-block of North Cannon Drive, close to Diversey Harbor. The Marine Unit “responded to a follow-up investigation” at about 5:15 p.m.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the body belongs to Salvino.
The cause and circumstances of Szubert’s death, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, are still being looked into.
