He noted that investigators are likely to look into how the child got the gun and was able to bring it to school. The parents would be the first persons the authorities would look at, according to the former prosecutor.
Virginia classifies allowing a youngster to access a firearm as a minor offence. Even if the parents or anybody else were found guilty, the repercussions would be limited because it’s only a misdemeanor.
