The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that a shooter opened fire at a ballroom dance class in Monterey Park on Saturday night, killing 10 individuals and injuring at least 10.
According to sheriff’s captain, the mass shooting, one of the bloodiest in recent California history, occurred in the 100 block of West Garvey Avenue at at 10:22 p.m.
Reporters were informed by Andrew Meyer on Sunday. On Lunar New Year’s Eve, the shooting took place roughly seven miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Ten of the victims were declared dead at the spot by firefighters, according to Meyer. There were at least ten other patients transported to various nearby hospitals, and their situations varied from stable to critical.
