The two were earlier seen cuddling in the tunnel before the game. Hakimi has been referred to by Mbappe as one of his closest buddies at the Paris-based club on numerous occasions.
Mbappe tweeted that he couldn’t wait to see the Moroccan full-back at the match when his team, Morocco, advanced to the semi-final.
Even though the game was close the entire time, the French emerged victorious with to goals from defender Theo Hernandez in the fifth minute and Randal Kolo Muani in the 79th.

Throughout the game, Morocco had numerous opportunities to score and came close numerous times. However, the French managed to hold on to their lead until the very end, so luck was not on their side.
Argentina, headed by Lionel Messi, and France will now square off in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. Despite being the defending champions, Les Bleus would have reason to be concerned given Lionel Messi’s current form.

Croatia, who lost to Argentina in the opening semi-final, will face Morocco for the bronze medal.
They will be remembered as one of the best underdog performances in a FIFA World Cup history, bronze medal or not.
