The daughters of EMMY Award-winning actress Kirstie Alley made a statement about their mother’s loss on Monday, December 5, 2022. Many of the actress and comedian’s friends and admirers were shocked by her death following a brief battle with cancer.

Kirstie Alley: Who was she?
In the well-known NBC sitcom Cheers, Kristie Alley made her acting debut as Rebecca Howe.
Alley may be seen on Cheers on most Thursday nights in NBC’s “must-see TV” lineup from the late 1980s through the early 1990s.

She played a cool-girl-turned-neurotic bartender who fell in and out of love with a number of bar patrons, Boston millionaires, and the bar’s manager, Sam, who became one of the most well-known characters in the annals of early comedy history.

For her work on Cheers, she received a Golden Globe and an Emmy in 1991.

What caused the death of Kirstie Alley?
Kirstie Alley passed away from cancer, which her family acknowledged was the actress’s most recent health problem.
Kirstie Alley passed away at the age of 71.

At the time of her passing, she was receiving medical care at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

“We are heartbroken to inform you that our wonderful, fierce and beloved mother has passed away after a fight with cancer, which was only recently found,” said her children True and Lillie Parker on Alley’s Instagram.

The statement said, “She fought with incredible strength and was surrounded by her closest relatives, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.

As well-known off the screen as she was on it, she was an even better mother and grandmother.

After starring in Cheers, Kirstie had a long list of credits, including roles in other movies and TV shows like Veronica’s Closet.
