What happened to the suspect in the Frederick shooting?
A suspect was killed after exchanging gunfire with law enforcement agents in response to gunfire heard in Frederick on Thursday morning.
Police from various agencies were sent in response to a report of gunfire in the 200 block of 7th Street, according to a tweet from the Frederick Police Department.
A suspect and the responding police exchanged gunfire at one point, according to Frederick PD, before the suspect was shot and killed. They passed away just before 2:00 in the morning.
The initial tweet made no mention of whether Frederick PD was the only responding agency, which agency’s officers fatally shot the subject, or how many officers from each agency fired shots. There were no injuries to any police officers during the whole response.
The 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team is currently in charge of the investigation into this incident involving an officer.
