Jan. 11 City police today said they were looking into a claim that there were secret cameras in the changing rooms of a clothes store at a mall in Jalan Imbi.
A police report was initially filed on Monday, according to Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya.
He claimed that the video only became popular with the public after it went viral earlier that morning at 9am.
The video posting was made by other social media users, not the complainant, according to the report made by the outlet’s security manager.
We looked into the complainant’s business and discovered that the location claimed in the video is not the one where the incident is believed to have occurred, he added.
An 11-second video of the recordings that purportedly showed the cameras’ operation was posted to Twitter but has since been removed.
Regarding insulting a woman’s modesty, the issue is being looked into under Section 509 of the Penal Code.
Earlier, it was revealed that well-known fashion retailer H&M had filed a police report following complaints from online users about the viral video.
