Henry Berg-Brousseau Obituary: What Happened to State Senator Karen Berg-Son?
Henry Berg-Brousseau, the son of Democratic state senator Karen Berg from Kentucky, died by what looks to have been suicide. He was 24.
Berg-Brousseau, the deputy press secretary for politics for the Human Rights Campaign, one of the largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations in the nation, committed suicide on Friday.
In a news release, his mother said that her son had “long struggled with mental illness, born not from his being trans but from his problems finding acceptance.”
Berg-Brousseau rose to fame at the age of 16 for his testimony fighting a Kentucky law that forbade transgender bathrooms.
